BACHELOR OF ARTS IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Aim of the Programme
The primary aim of this program is to provide students with an understanding of the theoretical issues involved in the field of human resources management whilst helping them to develop a range of practical skills that will enhance their market value and academic worth.
Programme Learning Outcomes
The programme provides opportunities for learners to achieve the following outcomes:
- Communicate in a variety of domains by selecting and integrating communication skills to develop informative and persuasive presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Interpret organisational policies in the execution of day to day operations.
- Analyse organisational issues through systematic thinking and application of frameworks and tools that assist business decision making.
- Demonstrate skills and self-confidence to effectively manage and manage a wide range of constantly changing work environments.
- Identify a variety of risks and opportunities of doing business in a global environment.
- Develop knowledge of human resources planning and development, performance management, law of employment, taxation and strategic management.
- Develop professional skills in human resources management.
The programme run for a period of 4 years (normal entry) and 2 OR 3 years (Mature entry). This programme is delivered on full time, block release and weekend basis.

Requirement |
- Normal Entry 1: Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with at least 6 credit passes including English and Mathematics.
- Mature Entry 2: MSCE or its equivalent with credits in 4 subjects including English language and a Diploma (Level 5 OR its equivalent) from a recognised Institution.
- Mature Entry 3: Mature entry Year 3: MSCE with credits in four (4) subjects including English language, an Advanced Diploma (Level 6 OR its equivalent)from a recognised Institution and two (2) years relevant experience.
